ICF Accredited Coaching Skills Training

The CoachPath Academy is working towards ICF Level 1 and Level 2 accreditation, which means the Coaching Skills we teach are the most cutting edge, industry recognized and effective tools available to Professional Coaches on the market. We are excited to announce that our program uses the ICF Core Competences as the Foundation for your Education and Application of Coaching Skills.

When you graduate from the Level 1 program you will have experienced everything you need for your ICF ACC (Associate Coach Certification). When you graduate from our Level 2 program (coming in 2026) you will have everything you need for your ICF PCC, (Professional Coach Certification) excluding your Client Coaching Hours, and anything else the ICF may directly require (example: The ICF Certification Exam)

In addition, we have a peer coaching program that helps you get your Client Coaching hours going to fulfill the ICF Requirements for client coaching hours.

What Do We Teach?

Here is our Course List for the Level 1 CoachPath Academy

Module #1 - The Foundation is crafted to establish the groundwork for your development as a coach, ensuring you grasp the core principles and methodologies essential for effective coaching.

  • Orientation: The introduction to the learning platform and resources that will support your journey. This session helps you navigate the course structure and understand how to make the most of the upcoming modules. You will also be introduced to the other coaching students in your cohort.
  • What is Coaching: Explore the key elements that define coaching, learning to distinguish it from other professions such as consulting, mentoring and counseling. This part of the module emphasizes the unique characteristics and boundaries of professional coaching.
  • Making a Living as a Coach: Gain insights into the practical aspects of how to sustainably earn as a professional coach. This session covers strategies for setting up a coaching business, identifying your niche, and understanding the financial dynamics of coaching.
  • Introduction to Core Competencies: Dive deep into the essential competencies that underpin effective coaching practices. You will learn about the ICF core competencies, how they are applied in real sessions, and their importance in building both the coaching profession and client relationships.
  • The Ethics of Coaching: Understand the ethical responsibilities and standards expected in coaching to ensure integrity and professionalism. In this segment you will discuss common ethical dilemmas coaches face and how to navigate them responsibly. You will also be given the tools and resources to make ethical decisions as a coach.
  • Embodies a Coaching Mindset: Develop the mindset necessary for effective coaching, which includes qualities like empathy, patience, and a commitment to continuous learning. A coaching mindset is unique and requires an awareness of our habits, biases and willingness to grow.
  • Coach’s Personal Development Mindset: Focus on your personal growth as a coach to enhance your capability to support others. This part explores how personal development is intertwined with professional effectiveness, discussing techniques for self-awareness and continuous improvement.
  • CoachPath Coaching Model: Learn about the CoachPath coaching model to understand its structure and how it enhances the coaching process. This final part of the module reviews the theoretical and practical underpinnings of the model and how it can be adapted to various coaching scenarios.

This foundational module provides a comprehensive overview of the basics of coaching, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to confidently move forward in your coaching career.

Module #2 - The Conversation dives deeper into the art of communication within coaching, focusing on refining skills that facilitate meaningful exchanges with clients.

  • Establish and Maintains Agreements: Learn to set clear, mutually agreed-upon agreements with clients, ensuring both parties understand and respect the coaching relationship's boundaries and expectations. This also includes setting agreements for each client session.
  • Cultivate Trust and Safety: Explore techniques to create a secure environment where clients feel safe to share deeply and explore vulnerabilities—an essential aspect of effective coaching.
  • Maintain Coaching Presence: Develop the ability to be fully present and connected during sessions, which helps in building a strong rapport and maintaining focus on the client's needs.
  • Listen Actively: Enhance your listening skills to not just hear but truly understand your client's words and underlying feelings, fostering a deeper connection and understanding.
  • Evoke Awareness: Master the skill of asking powerful questions and making observations that prompt clients to gain insights and see new possibilities.
  • Facilitate Clients Growth: Focus on enabling clients to translate insights into action, supporting their growth and helping them achieve their desired outcomes.

Module #3 - The Application revolves around applying your learned skills in real-world scenarios through Mentor Coaching Circles.

  • Mentor Coaching Circle: Engage in four 1.5-hour sessions where you can practice peer coaching under the guidance of a mentor, receive feedback, and refine your techniques with peers.

Module #4 - Make It Your OWN is designed to help you carve out your unique path in the coaching industry by choosing and developing a specialty. And a program that goes along with that specialty so you can begin attracting clients whether you are an internal or an external coach.

  • Signature Program & School Designation: You will decide on a designation path and define your unique coaching style and program, aligning with what resonates most deeply with your coaching philosophy and the needs of your target clientele. Develop a program that gets you in the flow and practice of coaching and impacting the world one coaching conversation at a time.
    o Certification Choice: —Business Coach (CBC) or Life Coach (CLC). Each track is designed to equip you with specific skills and knowledge pertinent to your chosen field.
  • Cohort Celebration: We end our learning journey with a virtual celebration that not only marks the completion of the program but also reinforces the connections and community built throughout the course. The people you meet on this journey will be your tribe forever.

Each module is tailored to not only enhance your skills but also to foster an environment where you can experiment, receive feedback, and continuously refine your coaching approach.

Optional * ability to certify as an Associate Certified Coach through the ICF after successfully completing the above Courses. You must have 100 client coaching hours to apply for your ACC.

Breakdown of Training Hours for the Coach Skills Training Part of the Program

Level 1
There are 70.5 Training hours in the Level 1 – CoachPath Academy Course. This includes the course itself, asynchronous learning and both your group mentor coaching and your individual mentor coaching.

The entire program is delivered over an 18-week period. All of the course work is designed for your success as a coach. Our curriculum provides a balanced approach, considering all learning styles.

Here is a breakdown of the training hours.

  • 6 Hours in Group Mentor Coaching so you can learn from your Mentor and Your peer student coaches.
  • 4 Hours in Private one on One Coaching with your Mentor for individual attention around your understanding of the ICF Core Competencies and how to apply them.
  • 22 Hours of Asynchronous learning including, pre- recorded content, reading, journaling and other assignments. Each module has a workbook loaded with content and exercises
  • 38.5 hours Live, face-to-face virtual training hours (on zoom) with an expert in the content area.
  • All Live training class sessions and group mentor coaching sessions are recorded and made available to the students in that cohort ONLY.
  • Once you have completed the Level 1 CoachPath training you are not left out in the cold, wondering what to do with these new amazing skills. CoachPath Academy has your back.

Before you Graduate from Coach School you will complete a Business Course that will help you set your business up, get your resume ready, (if necessary) and get your website up. We even have some awesome tech people ready to help with an optional technical package. You will also go through the process of creating your Signature Program to be ready for the world!!

So, we provide all the training in your personal development, your coaching skills and your business development you will need to succeed at being a professional coach, internally or externally.

The Coaching Philosophy of the CoachPath Academy is that you are wise, wonderful and have a lot to give to the world, and so are your clients. We believe that your clients are creative, whole and resourceful, so we train you to have personal confidence, the coaching skills and the depth of awareness to pull your clients greatness out of them for them to use to propel themselves forward.

Dates, Locations and Logistics:

Our training is virtual, which means you can be anywhere and join in on the opportunity to develop yourself as a coach.

Our Live training is done via Zoom, so it is as close to being in person as possible.

Our next CoachPath Academy Level 1 Registration opens Monday, October 21st, 2024. Please click here to be informed as to when registration opens. 

Our next CoachPath Academy training begins Tuesday, January 7th, 2025  and runs through Thursday, May 17th, 2025 . In addition, you are required to meet with your assigned Mentor Coach for 4 individual 1-hour sessions at times that are convenient for you both to be completed by May 30th, 2025.

Classes meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. eastern and run for 1.5 hours each. Please check this calendar for exact dates and information. Our next Level 1 Cohort E225 begins on April 29th, 2025 and our Level 1 Cohort AE 125 begins on August 21st, 2025. All Live and Recorded Sessions, Mentor Coaching and Testing are held in English.

The Program is delivered by Video and Live Video Conferencing via Zoom.

Requirements for Admittance into Coach School

  1. Minimum Education: A high school diploma or equivalent; some programs may require a bachelor's degree, or some higher education is preferable but not necessary. it is highly recommended that learning be a fundamental core value of yours.
  2. Have a Desire to be an ICF Certified Professional Coach. – Certification is not mandatory or required to call yourself a coach, but having one makes you credible and keeps the profession stable and growing. 
  3. Professional Experience: Relevant work experience in coaching, management, leadership, or a related field, demonstrating a foundational understanding of professional interactions.
  4. Application Form: Completion of an application form that includes personal information, educational background, professional experience, and a statement of purpose.
    - Complete this online Application form, which includes, Personal, Professional and Educational experience. Transcripts are NOT required.
    - Complete a 1 – 2-page essay or a Video answering the following questions:
    1. Why do I want to become a coach?
    2. What do I think it takes to be a Great Coach?
    3. What do I want to do with my Professional Coaching Certification?
  5. Proof of Competency in English: CoachPath Academy is taught in English and requires excellent communication skills in English. For non-native speakers, proof of proficiency in English through standardized tests like TOEFL or IELTS, or through prior education in English-speaking institutions.
  6. Commitment to Code of Ethics: Agreement to adhere to the academy’s code of ethics, which is the ICF’s Code of Ethics and professional standards throughout the duration of the program. 
  7. Financial Proof: Ability to show financial stability or ability to meet the tuition and associated costs of the program. CoachPath Academy has tuition payment plans and if the student cannot enroll in the provided plans, the student is not in a place in their life to learn coaching or to become a successful coach. 
  8. Technical Equipment: Must have high-speed internet, a Computer Microphone, Webcam, and a Zoom Pro Account (Pro is necessary) Must be fully responsible and willing to work through technology issues to participate.

These requirements are designed to ensure that all participants are well-prepared and likely to succeed in a rigorous and demanding coaching environment

*There are a limited number of spaces available for each cohort so early application is highly recommended. 

*Applications are reviewed upon receipt by faculty members and CoachPath Academy directors. Decisions are final and at the sole discretion of CoachPath. Applicants are notified of admission decisions by email shortly after admission decision is made. 

*A $500.00 application fee is required. If you are accepted into the program, $500.00 of the application fee will be applied to your tuition. If you are not accepted, you will receive a refund of $475.00 within 30 days of the denial notice. 

Here are the reasons your application may be denied:

  1. Insufficient Qualifications: If the applicant does not meet the educational or professional experience requirements set by the academy.
  2. Incomplete Application: Missing documents, unanswered questions, or failure to provide required information can lead to an application being denied.
  3. Failure to Demonstrate Commitment: Applicants who fail to show a genuine interest in coaching or an understanding of what the program entails might not be accepted.
  4. Lack of Alignment with Values: If an applicant’s values or goals significantly diverge from the ethos and objectives of CoachPath Academy.
  5. Lack of Communication Skills: As coaching is heavily reliant on effective communication, inadequate skills in this area might be a reason for denial..
  6. Overcapacity: If the academy has reached its maximum capacity for a given cohort, additional qualified applicants might be deferred or denied. We will do everything we can to accommodate you.

These criteria help maintain the quality and integrity of the CoachPath Academy, ensuring that all participants are well-suited for the rigorous training and high standards expected in the program.

Tuition

Tuition for the CoachPath Academy is designed to be affordable.  

Tuition options for Coach School:

Tuition: $4800.00 plus $1100.00 for mentoring = $5900.00 if paid in full 

6-month option: 6 payments = $6490 =$1085.00 per month for 6 months

12-month option: 12 payments - $6608.00 - $555.00 per month for 12 months. 

-All Coach School Students are Gifted with a half price off the current price for access to Life School while they are in Coach School and for 12 months after their last session (Session 30) and are encouraged to participate in everything that Life School has to offer.
